FinARTs Controller App
This app is designed for the FindARTs digital art frame. It allows users to remotely control the frame, purchase artworks, play or pause displays, edit artwork playlists, and adjust display settings. For this project, I handled the complete interface design process, including user interviews, usability testing, and creating visual interface proposals.

Goal
Our goal is to design an app that simplifies operating the digital art frame. We want users to easily control the frame with the app, making it user-friendly and eliminating the need for a steep learning curve.
This product includes a digital frame, remote control, and mobile app. We tested the full user journey and found the following issues. The packaging lacks clear setup instructions, and screen transitions are too fast for home use. The remote control buttons are confusing, leading to misinterpretation. The controller app has shifted from B2B (device management) to B2B2C (playlist management), requiring interface adjustments.
We recruited 8 participants, including users of different mobile operating systems and various age groups, for testing.
We invited eight participants for interviews, where they unboxed the product, used the app, and operated the device while we recorded the process.
We identified the issues and pain points users faced during the operation, their emotional experience at each stage, and possible improvements. We found that users felt the most frustration during the connection process.
Users made the most errors during unboxing, pairing, and network setup while using the app.
Users often struggled with playlist management, so we improved the UI by prioritizing playlists and making the playlist and device icons clearer.
We improved connection prompts to help users find the right connection faster.
We simplified unboxing with illustrations or tutorial videos for easier setup. Hardware and remote control were improved with clearer icons and merged functions for better usability. The Player interface now includes pairing prompts and guidance to help users connect easily. The app interface was optimized to enhance playlist display and hierarchy.
